Former ENHYPEN member EVAN has opened up about his transition into a solo career and the personal experiences that shaped his debut EP, DEATH OF ME. The singer, formerly known as Heeseung, discussed his departure from ENHYPEN, his new artistic direction, and his hopes for connecting with listeners through his music.
EVAN Begins a New Chapter as a Solo Artist
EVAN left ENHYPEN in March 2026 to pursue an independent musical path while remaining under BELIFT LAB. He subsequently adopted the stage name EVAN, a name he said carried personal memories from his childhood.
His solo debut officially began in June with “Ride or Die,” a digital single featuring the title track and “Overflow.” EVAN participated in songwriting, composition, production and the project’s visual creative direction.

Following his digital single, EVAN released his first solo EP, DEATH OF ME, on September 7, 2026.

Yonhap reported that EVAN took a hands-on role in the project, composing and writing lyrics for nearly all of the tracks.
